The Crow, called the Apsáalooke in their own language are Native Americans, who in historical times lived in the Yellowstone River valley, which extends from present-day Wyoming, through Montana and into North Dakota, where it joins the Missouri River.
I drew this Warrior Chief about 1975. I saw a picture of him in a book on Native Americans. I found him to be tranquil and wise. He has hung in my home since he was created, He has moved with us 14 times: it does not feel like home until he is on the wall.
