I was attracted to this face not only for it’s interesting lines but by the way light and shadow play across his face.
I drew this Warrior Chief about 1975. I saw a picture of him in a book on Native Americans. I found him to be tranquil and wise. He has hung in my home since he was created, He has moved with us 14 times: it does not feel like home until he is on the wall.
